Fantastic for the price
Took about an hour to assemble. The instructions are great and the hardware is packed in a way that makes it easy for just about anyone to do the job. The plastic film is a pain to peel off, especially in cold weather, but it does a great job of protecting the materials. The heat output from this thing is just incredible! It easily heats more than 250 square feet of deck space down to almost 0C/32F to very comfortable temps, at nowhere near full output. Extends the outdoor season for us quite nicely! Easy to stow for winter, too. Just remove the tank and one person can easily carry the unit to the garage or barn. I bought an cover for it also. Recommended.

Good for the money
These units seem to die out and I think I found the trick. This is my second one really well-made looks good and works great. There was a discrepancy between how to light these on the unit itself it says push the unit switch in and hold it for 30 seconds well lit. The manual that came with it said hold it for five seconds and then turn it to low. There’s a thermal coupler in the unit that needs to be warm before you can operate it I believe so I always hold it for 30 seconds and then I’ll let go of the push switch. So far so good.

Not so easy set up

Heats well but….
After you get the unit put together it’s fine, but the hardware supplied is so so. Only one Wetench and that’s it. No way that’s all you had you could put it together. For about another 99 cents in parts, all would have been good. I had all companies that put the hardware in cardboard like this was. They should but each step in a bad by itself, would not add much cost. Took me about an hour to get together. The instructions were nicely done. All in all work what I paid. Just little things would have been better.

Love it but had to fix it
We got this and it is awesome but took some work. We hooked up the hose and it was spewing fuel. Emailed company who took care immediately. USPS took over a few weeks to get to us but after new hose, it’s perfect.

Not the Best, but not as costly as the best either
I did not find this as easy to assemble as most other reviewers have posted. I did NOT find it hard to assemble but it did take two people and we worked on it over a couple of days. I will say that anyone familiar with the reader doer method will be able to assemble this product. It does a great job, for the money.

Love it
I love the fact that we use this out in our detached garage and it keeps it warm so we can either watch the snow fly or do work in there without bundling up. My husband didn’t complain about putting it together, so it couldn’t have been that bad. You know it’s a good product when your husband says, “This was a great idea of yours”. He should listen to my ideas more often. LOL

It got delayed a couple of times in shipping but I got and it works. I used it on my back deck. When it’s windy it’s a waste as the wind blows the flame and the heat away. Nothing can change the weather.

Easy to assemble, wish the heat had a larger radius
My husband put it all together fairly quickly and easily. It fits a regular size propane tank so it doesn’t run out quickly. The only thing is that even when it is turned all the way up, if we are sitting under it we can barely feel the heat reach us so I did wish the power or heat radius was better

Great Service
The unit came with very clear instructions was pretty easy to assemble. Unfortunately, the burner unit wouldn’t stay lit and a replacement was required. I contacted the service group, they had me provide a brief video demonstrating the problem. Almost immediately they confirmed the problem and ordered a new burner and had it shipped. The new unit works fine. Thanks to the team in the Service Department.

Great heater for a great deal
I bought this on a Flash Sale and was amazed at the quality heater I got for $100. It’s large, puts out a lot of heat and looks good. It’s also easy to maneuver and store as needed. Putting it together was simple. It is handy to have a 2nd person to assist with the last aasembly steps….just to hold it basically.

Well built easy assembly
Product came with extremely clear instructions in a glossily full color instruction manual. Parts were clearly identified and mounted on a vacuum packed card with an extra fastener for each one. All holes lined upped perfectly. Without a doubt the best assemble yourself product I have seen in years. Works wonderfully being easy to light and excellent heat output. Took less than an hour to assemble and a first class product.

Unbelievable quality for the price
I have no idea how East Oak makes and sells this thing for $99. The entire unit is stainless and looks great. If you have even rudimentary assembly skills, you do not need anything other than the printed instructions. All the fasteners are in a bubble back and are labeled clearly, which correspond to the printed instructions. One thing I believe that is not mentioned in the ad – ALL fasteners are stainless, which is a big deal. The last one I bought from HD was painted steel with low grade fasteners, which lead to everything rusting down into the ground after a few years. This unit is all stainless, so it should last a long time.Easy to assemble, lights immediately, and puts out a ton of heat. Best purchase I’ve made in a while on Amazon.

Come At Me (Not)
I have put this heater on my back deck. If you see the picture, feel free to NOT come at me for not observing the clearance recommendations. It’s not going to stay in that spot while in use; it’s only stored there. Having addressed that…This heater performs very well pushing out the heat. While the top dispersal shield feels somewhat flimsy, it deflects the heat outward from the burner unit like a boss. I wish the color somewhat matched the post, however. I recognize that it may not be possible due to discoloration over time, but it’s still a wish. Anyway, it warms the area nicely and we are going to get good use out of it during the winter months.I assembled it by myself in about an hour. It’s not difficult and the directions are outstanding with detailed and labeled pictures. Additionally, the hardware package is great since all the types of screws, nuts, etc and separated into labeled compartments. Great touch from the manufacturer. I’m impressed.Overall, I rate this 5/5 Stars.

The burner unit is excellent
This outdoor heater lights up instantaneously and every time. The burner unit is excellent and works perfect. The instructions and packing are very good. The metal housing of the base and pole are a little flimsy as is the top reflector. Not heavy material and I doubt it is stainless steel under the color paint. We’ll see how it holds up over the winter outside. This replaced a very well built all stainless steel unit that was over ten years old and looked new although the burner unit wouldnt light. Wish this company had an all stainless heavy duty base, pole support and top.

Used these for my outdoor wedding in March. the weather was already perfect but it definitely helped my Florida family keep warm in the “cold” weather. They were on full blast the entire 8-10 hours and lasted the whole time. Plus they are a beautiful color, and just look great as well!

Excellent heater and good customer service
I’ve had this heater for about 6 months now. It was easy to assemble and the heat output is excellent. It easily keeps several people warm sitting on my deck, provided there’s no wind.After 5 months I had a problem with the gas flow. The heater wouldn’t stay alight. I contacted customer service and they were excellent, sending a replacement regulator, which I easily installed. It fixed the problem.Overall a great buy with excellent customer support

I reached out to East Oak to get a replacement hood for my patio heater. I have 2 which work fantastic but one fell over in a storm and damaged the hood. Mia at East Oak had one sent out fast. East Oak – Best Company Ever
I love this heater – it puts out just enough heat to take the chill out of the air. 1-2 weeks after we go it a terrible wind storm blew it over not once but twice, completely damaging the heat shield. East Oak replaced it after only a few questions. Then there was a gas leak due to damage in the connection, again East Oak came through. Totally live working with. A business that knows how to care for its customers!!!Highly recommend any product from East Oak.

Outstanding Customer Service
This heater really throws out the heat in a wide swath. It keeps 4 to 5 people very warm on a cold night. But its greatest value is the customer service of the company, East Oak. A strong gust blew my heater over bending the top heat shield. When I asked the company if they had replacement parts, the service rep asked me to send a photo of the damage which I did. The next thing he told me is that replacement parts were on the way. One week later, I received an entirely new heat shield (4 parts). The unbelievable part is that I was not charged a dime. These guys are great!

I like the shade of copper/brown.
I usually buy outdoor items in dark brown or gray but we went with the copper/brown color for this and we like it! It is easy to move around and works great! I ordered a cover for it to keep it nice and safe from weathering. The bottom works great as a small “table” for drinks and small plates. Love it! We are considering ordering another one for the other side of our patio.

Excellent Customer Service
This patio heater was fairly simple to assemble and our family loved it. It works great. It blew over a few weeks later because of some very strong winds but the company quickly send me replacement parts and were so helpful. They were excellent at following up to make sure everything was right. I will definitely be ordering East Oak patio furniture in the future.

Good purchase
I bought it for my shop. I am a mechanic the nature of my job is in and out I always work to keep the garage door open. so in winter, it is very hard to do work without a heater. So after doing research, I ordered it and I am now Using this heater however the heat of this heater comes straight down not that much in the surrounding areas. When I am standing directly under the heater it perfectly keeps the place warm but my feet and legs are still cold, so for my feet and legs I ordered one small regular heater. So far it is a good heater if you work outside your garage for just a couple of hours not for 7 to 8 hours

Brand new and … UPDATE
I just purchased this and hooked up a brand new propane tank this morning and it will not ignite. I have read and followed the instructions numerous times, and nothing. I can smell the propane when I am holding down the top knob and pushing the button to light it, but it is like it’s not even trying. I am very disappointed. I will try it again later, had to walk away out of frustration, and if it still doesn’t work I will look into my options. It is unfortunate because the unit is nice. It is taller and bulkier than I expected, but it was very easy to assemble and easy to move it around my patio area. Too bad it is just a giant paper weight at this point.UPDATE: after watching a few YouTube videos we decided to use a long neck lighter to light it with the pilot light on and the propane tank barely open (didn’t want to lose an eyebrow!). It worked! Fantastic! And then we turned it off and waited about an hour and it instantly turned back on. As long as it lasts like this, I will remain a satisfied customer.I would have given a full 5 stars had it ignited on its own the first time. Definitely worth taking a chance!

EXCELLENT HEAT!
The East Oak patio heater has been used over a month on the outer part of our covered patio. The recommended 4 foot clearance above the hood was a big concern. The clearance in our patio is 20”! So I placed a remote temp gauge above the unit. The temp rose to 170 F on low. Concern for melting the painted ceiling or worse resulted in moving the unit to the outer edge of the covered patio and purchasing a reflector to direct the heat into the covered area. Good results.The unit is designed and constructed quite well. It felt rather obtrusive at first in our small patio. It “fits-in”better being on the edge of the patio.My only minor complaint: Our evening temps are in the 40-50s F. At times (no breeze) the lowest setting provides too much heat. I wish the unit’s minimum btu output was lower.

When I put the unit together and lit it up there was a strong propane smell. I contacted the company and they suggested several ideas to try but with no results (very good communication). They then sent me a whole new upper unit, did it require some dissessembly and the reassembly, yes, but they didn’t hesitate! Eats propane like no other
I want to like this heater but I’m stuck at my rating due to how much propane this heater uses. It heats up quick but I’ve never seen a heater eat this much propane so it’s prob not going to be our primary heater on our patio. My previous heater we left behind when we moved was one from Costco and a propane tank lasted almost 2 months of off an on use in the colder months. This one I’m on my 4th tank in 2wk using it maybe an hour a night if that. I did get one of those aluminum reflective shield that attaches to the top to redirect the heat and it actually works so I can keep the heater on a lower setting so this 4th tank will be the test to see how long it lasts. If it doesn’t last I’m either returning this or just eating the cost and buying one from Costco again. Would of went that route originally but Costco isn’t close to us as it use to be at our old place.

Works well
Puts out good heat, but was in my opinion kind of cheaply made very lightweight although it should be sturdy enough to use for a heater a little bit top-heavy because of a lack of weight on the bottom and only using sheet metal!! assembly was about two hours, not the hour they advertise, and I am pretty handy with tools!!!

Does not come with a weighted base
Overall it’s a really nice patio heater, however quite disappointing to know it doesn’t come with a base. Have bought other patio heaters for other properties and a base was a given. Otherwise no complaints!

Great product and great service
I have to say the service I received with a perceived problem was great. I thought a piece was missing and I reached out to customer service and they got back to me right away. After a few questions they agreed to send me the missing part right a way. As it turned out the missing piece was just packed in between the styrofoam packaging so I quickly got online and reached out to let them know. Products look great and work great. Highly recommend.

Easy to assemble, looks modern
Super happy with the lamp, very easily to build, almost dummy-proof. All instructions were easy to understand AKA written in English so that was nice. Puts out a ton of heat also! Only issue I had was I ordered this during black friday and it got pawned to UPS which blamed so and so and lost the package and blah blah blah so I said I needed a replacement and it came decently quick but once the product showed up I was pretty happy cause it works well.

A bit wobbly but warms an area nicely
Kept us warm when directly under with temperatures in the low 40s but heat drops when the tank gets low. The joint between the two pipe sections has some room for improvement too – a bit loose.
