TERRO Fruit Fly Traps
Have you spotted fruit flies swarming around your kitchen or garbage can? It’s a familiar problem for most homeowners. With the TERRO Fruit Fly Trap, you can get the best of these annoying household pests in no time! This fast-acting trap uses a non-staining liquid bait to lure adult fruit flies inside. Once the flies enter the trap, they cannot escape to continue breeding and multiplying. The trap also features an attractive apple-shaped design that will look at home in any kitchen.
How Do Fruit Fly Traps Work?
Fruit flies depend on moist organic debris. The TERRO Fruit Fly Trap lures adult fruit flies to the trap using a special food-based liquid lure. Flies that enter the trap through one of the many funnel-shaped holes are unable to escape and continue breeding. In a matter of days, you should begin to notice a dramatic decrease in the number of fruit flies around your home.
Easy to Use
When trying to eliminate fruit flies, the key to success is locating their breeding areas. You’ll typically spot fruit flies swarming around kitchen fruit bowls and near garbage cans. Place traps near kitchen counters, sinks, dishwashers, unrefrigerated fruits and vegetables, or any other location where fruit is stored.
Attractive Apple Design
Gone are the days of unsightly traps taking up space inside your home! This trap features an attractive apple-shaped design that will look at home in any kitchen. It also blends in with the fruit these pests love! For your convenience, the trap also has a built-in window, allowing you to keep an eye on catches and lure levels.

These fruit fly traps actually work quickly!
This works! We had a big fruit fly issue and nothing was really working until we used these. The Ready-to-Use Indoor Fruit Fly Trap immediately started working. A combo of these in every room, and sucking them up with the vacuum hose as they landed nearby took care of the problem quickly! It was surprising how fast! Be warned, it will spill if you knock it over.

Definitely Works
We live in a beautiful tiny little country co-op town. This comes with flies, big flies and little flies. A lot of flies. I can’t even begin to describe the flies here. We have fly paper, fly poison, fly sticky traps, etc. I’m constantly cleaning to make it so the flies find the traps most appealing. But the little flies alude us all the time. I don’t know how I never found these before now. Delivered less than 12 hours ago, and the photo attached is the proof. I set it next to our UV light trap, which has been running for a month and only caught 6. This trap has caught at least 16 in 10 hours. I will absolutely keep getting this stuff for as long as I need to and whenever I need to. Do yourself a favor and get them too. Only thing I’d say is it stinks when you’re handling them, but once set in their trap spot, I didn’t notice the smell at all.

Works reasonably well
I wouldn’t say it’s long lasting but it works to catch small fruit flies. I had around 4-7 flies flying around my apartment/kitchen and bought these to try get rid of them. One trap placed right in the middle of the kitchen caught around 3 flies over a weekend (2 days) but I noticed it didn’t seem to work anymore after that as the remaining flies continued to buzz around. Will switch out the traps and see if that works in eliminating the flies completely. I did like the window view but best way to check how many flies the trap actually caught is to peer into the trap from above.

their effectiveness after about 2 weeks
Kind of embarrassing but this summer we had the worst fruit fly infestation we’ve had. Where it got really bad seemed to be in my 17 year old sons bedroom where he has a whole bunch of apple sauce packets he ate in the trash. These little suckers seem to love anything related to apples. It was bad. We tried apple cider vinaigrette and dish soap, open wine bottles with a little wine in the bottom. Zevo light. EVERYTHING. These are the most effective by far. It is so gross but these have caught so many fruit flies. My only gripe is that the package says to leave them out 45 days. They really seem to lose their effectiveness after about 2 weeks

These WORK!!!!
It’s a good thing I didnt submit the review the next day, or the second, or the third, or the fourth. I was VERY skeptical these were going to work at all ,since the fly paper scam had zero effect (dont buy any of the fly adhesive papers for fruit flies…it’s a scam) The first day I didnt even see any fruit flies, and I had a cloud in 3 rooms, even land on these. Then the next day I see a few on top of the traps and some going in, but then flying out. This went on for 3 days, and I saw zero flies actually dead in the traps. Then I noticed a few on the fifth day. One week later all the fruit flies are GONE!!! I dealt with these flies for 2 months, and these little traps either trapped or killed them all. I had them everywhere, bathrooms, major problem in the kitchen,b ut even were in the bedrooms. One week later they are gone, every last one. BE PATIENT! It needs a good week to work.

Traps are brilliant…but try this!
The traps are great, reusable, and easy to clean. The bait fluid is ok…BUT…use dark apple cider vinegar with a drop or two of liquid hand soap and these traps really take off and catch a ton of the lil flying beasties. The soap in the vinegar keeps them from escaping. All non-toxic and easy to change out when it fades and stops attracting as many. 🙂

Ok they do work but,,, They dry out fast they should have more juice
They are unobtrusive and do not stinkThey work for a short time then they run dryYou can improvise a refill with certain common ingredient available online or just add a small bit of H2O to keep it going

SO Effective! But you gotta be strategic. Will get you fruit-fly free in 48 hours.
I saw some of the reviews and am not surprised that these don’t work 100% effective just by themselves. They need to have some sort of bug zapper light next to them so that flies hovering round will get zapped. For sure there are a lot of flies that got killed by the trap itself, but pairing this with a bug zapper is a beautiful combo and got us completely fruit-fly free in 48 hours. In addition we poured Green Goblin down the drain in every drain in the kitchen and in the bathroom. This is what is needed to get the most out of these traps.

Works well
The first few days none of the traps I placed atteaced anything. I’d often see gnats flying around the traps and not attracted to them. Around the 4th or 5th day almost every trap has a few gnats in them. It’s working very well.

They work!
There’s nothing worse than the pesky fruit flies. Terro – whom you already know for killing ants – makes this fruit fly trap. There’s an oil in the apple that “apple” and when a fruit fly touches the oil, he’s trapped. They work well, don’t smell and, when finished, throw them away. They last about 60 days.

Amazing flies are gone 10 days
Love this product because it actually worked great. We had little fruit flies for over a month. I bought these and right away I saw the flies going in and getting trapped. My husbands bathroom was a real problem. Within 5 days there were a lot less flies. At 10 days they are gone.

RUN TO ORDER THIS
All I can say is WOW. I had an infestation of these flies I’ve never seen before in my life. So frustrating, I thought aliens were taking over! I tried the fly ribbon which worked fine but it was so sticky and messy. I ordered this product and im mind blown!! by the time I left it out for work at 4 and arrived back home by 12, I’d say about 95% of the flies were trapped in the little apple fly catchers!!!! It’s so cool to look at the floating flies because it’s almost mesmerizing and unbelievable that something was able to catch them by the masses and so quickly!!

Works well but has an odor.
I like that it works very well catching bugs. I don’t like the sour smell. If you have pets place the container where they can’t knock it over because then dead bugs and stinky liquid spills out.

Decent product.
We had fruit flies around our fruit bowl and decided to try this trap. It took a few days to clear them all up, but it worked. Its basically vinegar in the bottles that come with the kit. So I wouldn’t waste money on refills. Just use apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar.

No magic here, but it does sorta work
Lately, we’ve been buying more fruit than usual. Something we brought home must have had a few fruit flies or eggs, so we’ve got some of the pesky critters flying around in the kitchen. It’s not a big infestation, but I do see maybe a half dozen of them a day. So, I’ve tried a couple of things.I made a couple of do-it-yourself traps. There are a couple of them on the internet. It’s apple cider vinegar in a mason jar with small holes in the lid (or a cup with plastic wrap with holes). I made both, and caught a few flies. Then I bought the Terro traps. They are cute and inexpensive. I’m pretty sure the magic “attractant” is apple cider vinegar with some kind of surfactant to make sure the critters don’t float when they hit the liquid. I’m guessing a drop of dish wash detergent would work for that purpose. These also caught a few flies. On several occasions, I’ve seen them land on the lid and walk around for a while and then fly away. I don’t know why they don’t go inside the holes – one of life’s great mysteries. Then I bought a trap with blue light and sticky paper. This also caught a few.The most effective (and most fun) is to use our Dyson stick vacuum. We have white cabinets, so it’s easy to see the files when they land. I’ve observed that they tend to like vertical surfaces and generally orient themselves head-up. They also take off backwards. So, if you get the vacuum running on high and sneak up on them from below, you can generally suck them in. At least for me, this has some entertainment value. My wife tells me that I remind her of Bill Murray in Ghostbusters with that thing. But it definitely does work. Who you gonna call…?Bottom line… I haven’t found any magic solution to the problem. Everything seems to work about equally well. I have my homemade traps, the Terro traps and the light trap all deployed. There is some value in purchasing the Terro traps, because they are the most attractive option. They are also inexpensive. They look like little apples. Don’t get hung up on their “attractant”. Apple cider vinegar and dishwasher detergent should be an effective substitute.Happy hunting!

Works to trap gnats
First time we ever had a problem with gnats. The container for the liquid worked well, but it was not easy to put the liquid in the little red containers. I was very happy to find this product though. I did place the red container in a small clean round plastic container I usually recycle to avoid any accidental spillage.

Does the job but takes some time
I developed a fruitfly issue literally overnight and found dozens of them floating around. I ordered this product and managed to get over 50% of the fruit flies within the first 24 hours. They’re pesky little buggers and I suspect it’ll take another week or so to get everything, but the product does work. I just wish that they were more attracted to it and that I wouldn’t have to deal with it for as long as I do. I know eventually it’ll get them all.

Gets the vast majority with ease
I can confidently say that this trap does not disappoint. From the moment I set it up, I noticed a dramatic reduction in the number of fruit flies that were previously hovering around my fruit bowl and trash can.The trap’s design allows you to actually see the trapped fruit flies floating, which for me, is a clear indicator that it’s doing its job effectively. Every time I glanced over at the trap, it gave me the satisfaction of knowing that fewer of these little nuisances were flying around. Within a few days, I only spotted one or two fruit flies occasionally, which is a vast improvement from the multitude that once took residence in my home. However, it’s worth noting that while it has significantly reduced the fruit fly population, it hasn’t eradicated every single one. But given that I haven’t ventured much into other fruit fly control products, this one certainly stands out in terms of effectiveness. In conclusion, if you’re looking for a solution that will majorly cut down your fruit fly issue, this trap is a worthy contender. It might not get every single fly, but it certainly puts a substantial dent in their numbers. Highly recommended for anyone facing a similar nuisance!

It attracts but…
So this product absolutely does 50% of the job guaranteed. It attracts the fruit flies right to it. So that part works. Unfortunately they just crawl around the top instead of going inside to the solution. It’s caught a couple, but mostly I just see them crawling around on top and purposely *not* going inside. I put them next to some UV light traps hoping they’ll work in tandem to do the job.

I was skeptical at first, because there were a lot of mixed reviews. I bought it because I was desperately trying to get rid of this infestation of fruit flies in my kitchen. I set the trap, and not even 5 minutes later, all the fruit flies came to sit on the trap. I was confused as to why they weren’t actually going in, but I decided to be patient. I’m glad I was. The next day, I’d say that 90% of the flies were in the trap, dead. I did set 2 traps and they were both pretty full of them. Very happy and would 100% recommend.

These do attract them. Read my method
These do catch them but won’t solve your issue. Definitely good to have on hand.I recently had a gnat or fruit fly issue and felt disgusting and became crazier than a bed bug cleaning like a psycho to my already clean home. I spent 100 bucks on everything in 3 days. I am surprised I didn’t end up in the ER with all the chemicals I used. The vinegar, dishsoap, homemade traps do not work!!This is what works!!!! Get some drain opener. These effers come from the drain and we had a ton of rain. Use it. Clean your entire house with bleach. Put sugar water, soda or anything sweet in an old pan you don’t care about. Put in the oven and leave your oven open overnight. Wake up. Shut the oven. Bake those effers at 450 for 10 min. Gone. Also get the gross fly strips AND THESE to catch the stragglers. Put bleach in every drain to sit at every chance. Boil water on your stove and dump it with bleach down your garbage disposal and run it. Have not seen one since. Don’t use a garbage disposal. They are just gross sorry. Dichotomus earth/bedbug powder/silica powder under your sinks (kills any bugs exoskeleton). You’re welcome.

These things work!
I was skeptical but we had a bad fruit fly infestation and I had to try something. I put two of these traps in the kitchen and after 5 days we are fly free. The only improvement I could suggest is to add an adhesive to the bottom of the trap. That’s minor, though, double stick tape works just fine. Five stars!
